He was born at Novara in 1957. Graduated in Turin where he still lives and works. After his diploma in composition with Azio Corghi at the Conservatory of Milan and that of Electronic Music from EMIT he worked (1986-88) at the Centro di Sonologia Computazionale of the University of Padova and with the Laboratorio di Informatica Musicale of the University of Milan. With the scholarship De Sono of Turin he collaborated (1991-97) with the Experimental Studio SWF of Freeburg and IRCAM in Paris; In April 1997 he was composer in residence at ARCOE in Grenoble. He was also hosted as composer in residence at the Fondation d’Art Chateau de La Napoule (Spring 2000 e 2003), and Kulturhuset-USF, Bergen Norway (Summer 2002). He is also the first Italian composer to be invited to the META Museum gathering at the Black Mountain College Spring 2002). His compositions received awards in national and international competitions (Irino Tokyo, Bucchi Rome, Ensemblia Monchengladbach, Briccialdi Terni), and his music was broadcast and performed in Italy and other countries (Pomeriggi di Musica Nuova, Festival Antidogma, Settembre Musica Turin, Scuola Civica di Musica Milan, Festival d’été Geneva, Ensemblia Monchengladbach, Festival Bartňk Szombately, Biennale Musica Berlin, Ars Nova SWF Ravensburg and other festivals and concerts in Venice, Rome, Geneva, Turin, Perugina, Paris, Athens, Freeburg, Bacau, Grenoble, Valencia, Zagreb, Atlanta) His works are released on CD (2E2M, Datum, DDT, Happy New Ears) and published by BMG Ariola, Edipan e Ricordi. Over the last years he has worked in collaboration with artists, sculptors and painters (Alfredo Romano, Christine Sefolosha, Deanna Sirlin, Daniel Firman, Folket De Jong, Licia Lucchese, Gayle Tustin), architects (Monica Trevisan), video artists (Magali Claude, Jennifer Wofford, Keyla Allen, Lucio Cabutti), film and theatre directors (Maria Cristina Madau, Margot Galante Garrone, Vittorio Messina), writers (Emmanuele delle Piane, Roberto Piumini). He is involved in the promotion of contemporary music with Camerata Strumentale Casella, Compositori Associati, Antidogma Musica, Biennale dei Giovani Artisti dell’Europa e del Mediterraneo, Accademia Internazionale Arti e Media of Turin. He collaborated with Luciano Berio and worked for many years with Sergio Liberovici in the field of teaching and theatre for children. He is professor of Elements of Composition for Teaching at the conservatory of Cuneo where he also directs the Department of New Music, Technology and Multimedia.
