He is a self-taught musician and composer. He is professor of Electronic Music at the Conservatory of Cagliari. He received awards and special mentions in international competitions: Grands Prix Internationaux de Musique Electroacoustique; Luigi Russolo; Phonurgia nova and CIMESP. He participated at festivals, concerts, presentations, university conferences, associations and research centres: GRM (Paris), Henie Onstad Arts Centre (Oslo), PANorama (São Paolo do Brasil), Connecticut College (New London-USA), Korean Electro-Acoustic Music Society (Seoul), Soundscapes Symposium (Barcelona), Inventionen 2000 Berliner Festival Neuer Musik (Berlin), Institut für Neue Musik und Musikerziehung (Darmstadt), Rien à voir (Montréal), Festival dal niente (London), CRM (Rome), etc. He was composer in residence at the Centre National de Création Musicale (GMEM), many times at the Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique in Bourges (IMEB) and at Césaré (studio de création musicale, Reims). He also works with live electronics and has collaborated with various musicians, amongst others: Eugene Chadbourne, Mathieu Champagne, Michel Doneda, Tim Hodgkinson, Thomas Lehn, Jean-Marc Montera, Richard Nunns, Tony Oxley, Evan Parker, Z’ev, etc. He is one of the founding members of IATO (musicians’ collective), IXEM (Italian eXperimental Electronic Music) and BOWINDO (a new Italian record label). He is also one of the members of the electro-acoustic ensemble OSSATURA (with Fabrizio Spera and Luca Venitucci), the interactive electro-acoustic duo SCHISMOPHONIA (with Mike Cooper) and of the new group of electro-acoustic improvisation TAXONOMY (with Graziano Lella and Roberto Fega).
