Giuliana De Donno graduated in classical harp at Conservatory S. Cecilia of Rome under the guide of J. Jugo de Grodnicka.
She continued her specialization studies with E. Zaniboni, C. Antonelli (classical harp), A.R. Ortiz , L. Almada (Paraguayan harp), D. Bouchaud , A. O’Farrell (Celtic harp). Her repertoire encloses various music genres, from classical to popular, thanks to versatility given by the study and the research of particular instruments like Celtic harp, Italian popular harp and Paraguayan harp (of which she is the only Italian specialized harpist) which complete and improve the possibilities offered by classical harp. He did an intense concert activity as a soloist and in Chamber line-up at important manifestations like "ESTATE FIESOLANA ‘86", "ROMA EUROPA FESTIVAL", "FESTIVAL DI SANREMO", "FESTIVAL INT. DELLE ARPE 98", "SIMPOSIO INT. D'ARPA, PERUGIA 98", "TELETHON FRANCE 99", and with agencies of international importance like "ACCADEMIA FILARMONICA ROMANA", "TEATRO DELL'OPERA DI ROMA"ecc. She also collaborated with various orchestras, like "G. PETRASSI", "ROMENSAMBLE", "MUSICA OGGI", "ORCHESTRA DI STATO DI KIEV"; she is permanent member of the orchestra “NOTTE DELLA TARANTA” and Orchestra Popolare Italiana. She recorded for RAI and Mediaset, taking part to various TV shows; her activity also extended to theater and cinema (with M. Lucchesi, E. Scola, A. Foŕ, G. Giannini), whether as a protagonist on stage or as a performer of soundtracks ((Bacalov, M. De Sica, Piovani, ecc.) and live music for dance performances (B. Curtis). She also collaborated to recording productions of several artists and recorded, in 1994, with the band "Paideja" the Cd “ Venti propizi” (IT DISCHI); in 1998 the Cd “Corde dell’antica Roma” (AMIATA REC.) where she plays the lyre, cither, Burmese harp, etc.; in 2004 the Cd “A Sud del mondo” in trio with M. Cusato and R. Simeoni. Her last Cd “Harp to Harps” as a soloist was published by Twilight Music.
She also played with: G.L. Ferretti, C. Nunez, L. Galeazzi, B. Servillo, C. Consoli, P. Pelů, F. De Gregori, L. Dalla, A. Montellanico, M. Nunzi, N. D’Angelo, G. Aiello, N. Citarella, R. Jermano, G. Imparato, A. Vacca, Indaco, R. De Rosa, F. Di Giacomo, R. Maltese, R. Tesi, etc. At the moment, in additon to have a very busy concert activity as a soloist and in trio with M. Cusato (percussions) and R. Simeon (piano organ, flutes, etc.), she collaborates to musical projects of several artists like A.Sparagna, G.L.Ferretti, Piccola Banda Ikona. She is classical, Celtic and Paraguayan harp teacher at the international music academy “Fondazione Arts Academy” in Rome.
