“Good Morning Milkman” by Urban Chill could be easily labeled as a chill out product, but it is indeed much more complex than that: influences, impressions and styles are layered in the music of Urban Chill as swift brushstrokes or frames from a journey. “Good Morning Milkman” is an album inspired to real and imagined - but not imaginary - places. A day music inspired by the pure sun of the morning, and at the same time by the melancholy and elusive vision of a sunset. This second album by Urban Chill is to enjoy and to discover in different moments at night and during the day. Ideal as a travelmate, or to relax with a good pair of headphones, but even during an evening with friends, “Good Morning Milkman” is an album to be carefully savoured, and that can unexpectedly turn on the dancefloor. The first track in this itinerary is maybe the most misleading: “Je serais là”, featuring a French singer, is undoubtedly an experimental start with dark tonalities. As we continue to listen more places and more styles come alive. Urban Chill takes us through fascinatig metropolitan spaces, from the Mediterranean old cities to the American megalopolis. An interlacing of oriental sounds, soul, blues, hip hop old school, materializes tracks such as “A new world” or “Bring the rain” expressing a strong desire to ‘clean’ the world, or “Electrostatic”, an instrumental track ‘narrated’ by Pier Luigi Masciarelli’s guitar. There is also enough time to pay an hommage to a band apparently far from this world: the Radiohead, whose song “Talk show host”, maybe one of the less popular, has been intensively reintepretated in the atmosphere of this album. During the production of this album, Urban Chill has collaborated with many vocalists and musicians: we’ve already named Pier Luigi Masciarelli and his guitar improvisations, ‘Good Morning Milkman’ also features the jazz trumpet of Claudio Corvini, and the voices of Vittoria Brunetti, Roberta Frighi, Jann, Orlando Johnson. Marco Fullone has once again sapiently arranged the sequences and mixage of the tracks.
